Share
  • Strategy kept STRC’s annualised dividend rate at 12% for August 2026 despite the preferred stock trading below its $100 stated value.
  • STRC closed at $89.46 on 31 July, giving investors an effective yield of about 13.41% at that market price.
  • Strategy is using share buybacks and its $3.75 billion cash reserve alongside the dividend policy to manage its preferred-stock obligations.

Strategy kept the annualised dividend rate on its STRC preferred stock at 12% for August despite STRC ending July at $89.46.

The company previously increased STRC’s dividend from 11.5% to 12% after the preferred stock fell as low as $71.25 during June.

Strategy said it plans to maintain the 12% rate until STRC achieves “sustained, healthy trading” near its $100 stated value.

Strategy changed its rate-setting policy on 29 June, allowing management to consider market prices, competing yields, Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) volatility and cash-reserve coverage instead of automatically raising dividends when STRC trades below $100.

Strategy also repurchased 288,930 STRC shares for about $25 million at an average $86.53, leaving around $975 million under its preferred-securities repurchase authorisation.

The company reported a $3.75 billion US dollar reserve covering about 2.1 years of expected preferred dividends and debt interest after recording $400.7 million in second-quarter preferred dividends.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $63,122.40.
