A solo Bitcoin miner has earned around $225,000 after successfully solving a block, securing a 3.12 BTC reward despite extremely low odds.

The miner used the CKPool service, marking the second solo block discovery on the platform within a week.

“A miner of this size has only a 1 in ~100,000 chance of solving a block per day, or once every 300 years!,”

Said CKPool developer Dr-ck.

The miner operated with about 70 terahashes per second, representing just 0.00000667% of the total Bitcoin network hash rate.

Bitcoin mining involves competing to solve cryptographic puzzles, with successful miners receiving a fixed reward that halves roughly every four years.

While large mining pools dominate the network, occasional solo wins demonstrate that individuals can still participate and earn significant rewards.

Bitcoin was trading around $72,094, up 1.2% over the past 24 hours, though still roughly 43% below its all-time high.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $72,306.93.
