  • Sei has started the phased Eidos upgrade through its v6.6 mainnet release.
  • The upgrade changes how Sei stores and verifies data as its Giga roadmap targets 200,000 transactions per second.
  • The migration separates EVM data and adds new storage systems in later stages.

Sei (CRYPTO:SEI) has started its phased Eidos upgrade to rebuild how the network stores on-chain data.

The upgrade supports Sei’s Giga roadmap, which targets 200,000 transactions per second and sub-400-millisecond finality.

Sei said Eidos is designed to remove storage limits that could restrict the network’s planned transaction speeds.

The first stage moved EVM state into a dedicated database through the v6.6 mainnet upgrade released in August.

Later stages are planned to add FlatKV, LtHash, separate receipt storage and off-node archival systems.

Sei said its pruning changes reduced one cleanup process from eight to 18 minutes to roughly five minutes.

The migration will run while the network stays online, with existing and new storage systems operating alongside each other.
