- Ripple Prime is adding access to perpetual swaps linked to real-world assets, including equities and commodities.
- The contracts allow institutional clients to trade around the clock, beyond traditional market hours.
- The launch expands Ripple’s prime brokerage offering as tokenised assets and derivatives enter digital markets.
Ripple has launched real-world asset perpetual swaps through Ripple Prime, giving institutional clients access to more than 100 markets around the clock
The markets span equities, stock indices, exchange-traded funds, metals, energy and foreign exchange, with trades available on weekends.
“RWA swaps are where traditional and digital markets meet,” according to Michael Higgins, International CEO of Ripple Prime.
The contracts reference perpetual futures listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid, a decentralised derivatives trading platform.
“Virtu is ramping up across emerging liquidity pools, and Ripple Prime's 24/7 cross-margining across asset classes helps us expand our presence more efficiently as markets move toward round-the-clock access,” according to Scotte Moegling, head of business development for digital assets at Virtu.
Clients can use Ripple USD (RLUSD) as collateral and cross-margin swap positions against other asset classes supported by Ripple Prime.
The service currently operates under Ripple Prime’s British Virgin Islands licence, with plans to offer it in additional regions.
The launch extends Ripple Prime’s institutional derivatives offering into traditional asset markets that trade beyond standard exchange hours.
