Polymarket prediction markets briefly appeared in Google News search results alongside major publishers before being removed, with Google confirming the inclusion was an error.

The links surfaced under event-driven queries, placing Polymarket markets next to traditional outlets such as Reuters and The Guardian before disappearing shortly after.

“This site briefly appeared in Google News in error, and it is no longer surfacing in News,”

Said Google spokesperson, Ned Adriance.

The incident comes as Polymarket expands its presence through partnerships, including integrations with Google Finance and collaborations with platforms like X and MetaMask.

Despite growing visibility, data suggests profitability remains limited, with only a small percentage of users consistently generating meaningful returns on the platform.

Less than 1% of traders have achieved monthly profits above $5,000, while only a fraction sustain gains over multiple months, highlighting the challenges of prediction market trading.

The episode underscores both the growing mainstream exposure of prediction markets and the ongoing questions around their role alongside traditional news and financial platforms.
