  • Neynar is seeking a new team to operate Farcaster, Clanker and its developer platform.
  • Farcaster’s gross protocol revenue fell from $27.88 million in Q1 to $3.88 million in Q2.
  • Neynar has not announced a successor, transfer timetable, sale price or shutdown date.

Neynar is seeking a new operator for Farcaster and related products less than seven months after acquiring them.

Neynar acquired Farcaster on January 21 and agreed to maintain its protocol and primary application.

Neynar co-founder Rish Maheshwari said the company had begun looking for a new team to run the products.

The proposed handoff includes Farcaster, Clanker and Neynar’s developer platform, but no transfer terms have been announced.

Farcaster’s tracked gross protocol revenue fell to about $3.88 million in Q2 from $27.88 million in Q1.

The figures include Clanker revenue, so they do not represent Farcaster’s social application alone.

Neynar has not linked the operator search to revenue, user activity or operating costs, and no shutdown has been announced.
