NEAR Intents has halted services after an exploit caused preliminary losses of about $3.8 million.
The incident involved a bug connecting Omni’s deposit infrastructure with the NEAR Intents smart contract.
“Earlier today NEAR Intents services were stopped after a security incident was detected,” NEAR Intents said in an X post.
The vulnerability enabled unauthorised withdrawals from a hot wallet holding assets on BNB Chain.
NEAR Intents patched the contract flaw and pledged to compensate affected users in full.
Deposits and withdrawals on 11 networks were expected to remain unavailable for roughly 12 hours while work on the Omni infrastructure continued.
NEAR Intents had processed more than $30 billion in swaps across 35 blockchains before the incident.
Following the update, NEAR was trading down 8.5% at $4.84.
