Nasdaq and Talos have entered into a strategic partnership to align digital asset infrastructure with traditional risk management and trade surveillance systems.

The collaboration was officially announced on 23 March 2026, marking a significant step towards integrating institutional finance with blockchain-based technologies.

Talos will connect its digital asset platform with Nasdaq’s Calypso and Trade Surveillance systems to create a unified collateral management solution.

The combined framework enables institutional participants to manage tokenised collateral across both traditional and digital markets within a single environment.

The initiative focuses on unlocking more than $35 billion in excess collateral currently held in non-yielding positions.

By enabling real-time movement of tokenised assets and cash equivalents, the solution aims to improve capital efficiency for financial institutions.

The integration also introduces enhanced compliance features, allowing firms to monitor trading activity across multiple venues with greater accuracy.

Advanced analytics within the system can detect market manipulation practices such as wash trading and spoofing across different asset classes.

Institutions will be able to oversee both on-chain and off-chain collateral positions while maintaining strict regulatory controls.

The partnership seeks to reduce operational complexity by combining workflows into a single, streamlined framework for global users.

The move reflects growing demand from institutional investors for tools that bridge traditional finance and digital asset ecosystems.

"This partnership solves a fundamental challenge facing institutional markets: the inability to manage exposure across markets with a single risk and asset lens,"

Roland Chai said.

Industry observers view the collaboration as a key development in advancing the adoption of tokenised assets within regulated financial environments.
