Mysten Labs co-founder and CTO Sam Blackshear is leaving the Sui (CRYPTO:SUI) developer to join Anthropic’s security research team.
Blackshear co-founded Mysten Labs in 2021 after working at Meta on the Diem blockchain and Move programming language.
“When I reflect on my career, I have been happiest doing hands-on technical work while exploring new problem domains,” said Mysten Labs CTO Sam Blackshear.
Blackshear said Mysten Labs CEO Evan Cheng will take responsibility for setting the company’s technical vision after his departure.
Blackshear said AI is changing cybersecurity by increasing the speed and capabilities available for finding software vulnerabilities.
Blackshear created Move while working at Meta, before helping establish Mysten Labs and develop the Sui blockchain.
Blackshear will remain an adviser to Mysten Labs and continue supporting developers working across the Sui ecosystem.
