  • Mt. Gox-linked wallets transferred 47,228 Bitcoin to Bitstamp-linked addresses as creditor repayments continued.
  • The transfer has renewed market attention on whether creditors will hold or sell their recovered Bitcoin.
  • The movement forms part of the exchange's structured repayment process rather than an unexplained blockchain transfer.

Mt. Gox transferred 47,228 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) to Bitstamp-linked wallet addresses as the failed exchange continued distributing assets to creditors through its repayment programme.

Blockchain data tracked by Arkham Intelligence showed the transfer to Bitstamp-linked addresses, which are being used as part of the creditor repayment process rather than for an unexplained market transaction.

Bitstamp is one of the exchanges assisting with creditor distributions, although the transfer does not indicate whether recipients will retain their Bitcoin, move it into private custody or sell it on the open market.

The latest transfer has renewed market focus on potential selling pressure from creditor repayments, although the effect on Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) will depend on how recipients manage their holdings, and as Mt. Gox is no longer a publicly listed company there is no share price available.

Market participants have closely monitored Mt. Gox wallet activity because large Bitcoin transfers provide real-time visibility into the progress of the long-running repayment process.

Analysts said the transfer represents another step in the structured distribution of recovered assets, with future price movements likely to depend on market liquidity and investor demand rather than the transfer alone.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $63,858.44.
