Mantle moves $2.5B to Chainlink

Share
  • Mantle is moving its US$2.5 billion Super Portal from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP.
  • The migration lifts total announced transfers to Chainlink CCIP above US$7.2 billion.
  • Mantle said the move will improve security and give it greater control over token transfers.

Mantle said it will migrate its US$2.5 billion Super Portal from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol to improve security and token management.

The move increases the total value of announced migrations from LayerZero to Chainlink (CRYPTO:LINK) CCIP to more than US$7.24 billion since May.

“As tokenised financial assets move from concept to scale, the infrastructure that carries them across chains cannot be an afterthought,” said Mantle key adviser Emily Bao.

Mantle said the migration will move MNT transfers to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Token standard, giving the project direct control over token pools and transfer settings.

The migration will take place between July 9 and July 15, while existing MNT activity on Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), Solana (CRYPTO:SOL), Byreal and Bybit will continue without interruption.

Other projects that have moved to Chainlink CCIP include Kelp, Lombard, Solv Protocol, Virtuals Protocol, Re, Kraken and Yuzu Money.

The migration follows increased scrutiny of blockchain bridge security after the US$292 million Kelp bridge exploit earlier this year.

At the time of reporting, Chainlink price was $7.90.
