Kalshi is in advanced talks to raise about $1 billion at a $40 billion valuation, according to an exclusive Reuters report.

The proposed valuation would rise from $22 billion following Kalshi’s $1 billion May funding round.

Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are discussing plans to lead the latest funding round.

Tiger Global Management and Dragoneer Investment Group are also discussing participation in the raise.

Kalshi plans to broaden beyond prediction markets and offer trading across a wider range of asset classes.

The company is competing with established exchanges including CME Group (NASDAQ:CME) and Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE).

Kalshi has also held early discussions about a potential initial public offering in coming years, Reuters reported.
Following the report, Kalshi remained privately held with no public share price.
