Kalshi AI agent helps drive $5.1B volume
- Kalshi deployed an AI agent called Harrison to help evaluate and recommend new prediction markets.
- Weekly trading volume reached a record US$5.1 billion, helped by demand for FIFA World Cup-related contracts.
- The platform's expansion comes as US federal and state regulators continue to dispute oversight of prediction markets.
Kalshi has introduced an artificial intelligence agent named Harrison to help assess and recommend new prediction markets as weekly trading volume on the platform climbed to a record US$5.1 billion.
The rollout follows a surge in activity tied to FIFA World Cup markets, with Bloomberg reporting that Kalshi generated nearly US$18 billion in notional trading volume during May before setting a new weekly volume record this month.
“Harrison forms part of our internal markets team,” said Kalshi co-founder Luana Lopes Lara.
The AI system reviews news events, monitors rival platforms, recommends potential contracts for listing and identifies where liquidity incentives may be most effective, while Kalshi also uses AI tools to stress-test certification processes before markets launch.
Kalshi's expansion highlights growing demand for prediction markets despite ongoing regulatory scrutiny in the United States, and following the developments Kalshi's share price was unchanged at US$0.00.
Sports-related contracts have become one of Kalshi's fastest-growing segments alongside election, economic and entertainment markets, while rival prediction market platform Polymarket generated approximately US$1.46 million in fees over the last 24 hours and US$7.17 million over the previous seven days.
The growth comes as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and several US states continue to dispute regulatory authority over prediction markets, with the CFTC recently suing New Mexico officials after the state alleged Kalshi was operating unlicensed sports betting services.
