Injective seeks SEC transfer agent status

Share
  • Injective has applied to become an SEC-registered transfer agent.
  • The registration would allow securities ownership records to be managed on blockchain technology.
  • The move aims to support the tokenisation of regulated financial assets.

Injective (CRYPTO:INJ) has applied for registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a transfer agent to bring securities ownership records on-chain.

The application would allow blockchain technology to be used for maintaining ownership records of regulated securities if the SEC grants approval.

Injective said the registration is intended to bridge traditional finance with blockchain infrastructure by supporting compliant digital recordkeeping.

Transfer agents maintain shareholder records, process ownership changes and oversee corporate actions such as dividend payments and stock transfers.

Injective said moving these records onto blockchain networks could improve transparency, efficiency and settlement while operating within existing regulatory frameworks.

The filing reflects growing interest in tokenising traditional financial assets as blockchain companies seek to expand into regulated financial services.

The latest application highlights the industry's efforts to integrate blockchain infrastructure into established capital markets under US regulatory oversight.

At the time of reporting, Injective price was $4.85.
