Hyperliquid adds permissioned markets to HIP-3

  • Hyperliquid added optional on-chain allowlists to its HIP-3 market framework.
  • Market deployers can control which participants access permissioned perpetual markets.
  • Markets without access restrictions can continue using the existing HIP-3 structure.

Hyperliquid has expanded its HIP-3 framework with optional on-chain allowlists for permissioned perpetual markets.

Under the new design, market deployers can maintain a list of approved participants or appoint a sub-deployer to manage access.

Markets that do not need permissioning can continue using the existing HIP-3 framework without changing their operations.

The update gives market operators more control over who can trade specific perpetual contracts while keeping market rules on-chain.

HIP-3 allows independent deployers to create perpetual markets using Hyperliquid’s trading infrastructure.

The framework already supports markets linked to assets including equities, commodities, foreign exchange and crypto assets.

The change could help market operators build products with restricted access while retaining Hyperliquid’s on-chain trading infrastructure.
