- The licence covers digital payment token and cross-border money transfer services.
- The approval strengthens Gemini’s regulated presence in Singapore and supports its regional growth plans.
Gemini has secured a Major Payment Institution licence in Singapore through its local entity, Gemini Digital Payments Singapore.
The licence allows Gemini to provide digital payment token services and cross-border money transfers under Singapore’s Payment Services Act.
Gemini has served Singapore customers since 2020 and currently offers spot trading, custody and over-the-counter services.
The approval upgrades Gemini’s previous in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, which it received in October 2024.
Gemini moved Singapore customers to its local entity in April 2025 as part of its regulatory transition.
The full licence gives Gemini a regulated base for its Singapore operations and removes the uncertainty around its earlier in-principle approval.
Gemini has continued expanding its Singapore offering, including XRP deposits and withdrawals through the XRP Ledger in August 2026.
