Vance Says 'More Work to Do,' Playing Defense in Senate Fight

Vice President JD Vance urged North Carolina voters to give Republicans more time to accomplish their agenda as the GOP is on the defensive in key states ahead of November's midterm election. Oil Settles Near $100 as Hormuz Flows Stunt Rally

Oil fell Monday, settling near $100 a barrel, on signs Saudi Arabia is boosting exports via the key Strait of Hormuz and fresh hopes for diplomatic progress in the Iran war. Brent, the global benchmark, declined for a fourth session, settling 3.4% lower. The October West Texas Intermediate contract, which expires on Tuesday, fell about 4.5%. Satellite data showed that Saudi Arabia's observed oil loadings from inside the Persian Gulf jumped over the weekend, with the highest number of ships seen at the nation's main Persian Gulf port since June. The images indicate that the kingdom is successfully redirecting its exports back toward the Gulf following the shutdown of its vital East-West pipeline due to drone attacks.  For more, we speak with Humayun Tai, Global Leader of Energy & Materials at McKinsey.

President Donald Trump suggested he would modify plans for a large triumphal arch in the capital by including staging areas for US military snipers and to launch drones. The idea appears to be Trump's latest attempt to sell the idea of building a towering arch, which has spurred questions about whether it would dwarf Washington, DC's other memorials or pose a risk to air travel.  Trump is pushing to build the arch in Memorial Circle, which sits between Arlington National Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial, and near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, raising safety questions, though the Federal Aviation Administration has cleared the project as long as it has safety lighting. Democratic Representative Don Beyer of Virginia speaks with Joe Mathieu and Kailey Leinz on Balance of Power.
