- BNY partnered with Galaxy Digital to add crypto staking to its institutional custody platform.
- Eligible clients can earn staking rewards while keeping supported assets within BNY’s custody framework.
- The companies plan to combine custody, staking, reporting and tax services, but have not named supported assets.
BNY partnered with Galaxy Digital to offer crypto staking through BNY’s institutional digital asset custody platform.
Eligible institutions can stake supported proof-of-stake assets without transferring them outside BNY’s existing custody framework.
Galaxy will provide staking infrastructure and help BNY develop its broader digital asset platform, while supported assets remain undisclosed.
The companies said they aim to combine custody, staking, reporting and tax services within one institutional offering.
BNY previously expanded its digital asset services to include custody, tokenised fund administration and efforts to move transfer agency records onchain.
Galaxy reported US$3.2 billion in assets under stake at 31 March 2026 across its institutional staking infrastructure
