BitGo offers MiCA compliance ahead of deadline

  • BitGo said its BaFin-regulated Crypto-as-a-Service platform can help crypto firms comply with Europe's MiCA rules before the June deadline.
  • The company said firms can integrate with BitGo's infrastructure instead of building their own regulated operating systems.
  • Industry estimates suggest many crypto firms could lose registration status as MiCA transition periods expire.

BitGo Europe, a BaFin-regulated entity, said its Crypto-as-a-Service platform offers crypto companies a way to comply with Europe's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation before the end-of-June deadline.

The offer comes as firms across Europe face the end of transitional periods under MiCA, with industry estimates suggesting many existing registrations may expire.

“All of your clients can be onboarded and have sub-accounts inside of BitGo,” said BitGo Chief Executive Mike Belshe.

BitGo said eligible firms can integrate wallet services, custody infrastructure and MiCA-aligned compliance processes while continuing to pursue their own Crypto Asset Service Provider licences if they choose.

Belshe said the service is intended to help firms remain operational under the new regulatory framework, and following the announcement there was no immediate market reaction available for BitGo.

According to law firm Hogan Lovells, Europe had more than 3,000 registered crypto firms before MiCA, including more than 1,400 registrations in Poland alone.

As of May 2026, there were 194 authorised Crypto Asset Service Providers and credit institutions operating under MiCA, with industry estimates suggesting around 75% of pre-MiCA registrations could lapse as transition periods end.
