Blocksbridge Consulting said investors are paying closer attention to insider share sales at Bitcoin mining companies shifting into artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The consultancy said enthusiasm for AI helped lift mining stocks, but the TEM AI Infrastructure Growth Index has since fallen 16% over the past month.

Blocksbridge said executives at TeraWulf, Cipher Digital, Riot Platforms and Core Scientific disclosed share sales, while Tether also reduced its stake in Bitdeer following the company's AI-driven share price recovery.

Blocksbridge said investors are now placing greater focus on governance and whether the benefits of AI investments will reach public shareholders.

The consultancy highlighted TeraWulf after Chief Executive Paul Prager and Beowulf E&D Holdings sold about 1.59 million shares before the company announced a 20-year AI infrastructure lease with Anthropic.

Bitcoin miners continue expanding into AI data centres as mining margins remain under pressure after the 2024 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) halving, although research suggests many AI investments may take longer to generate returns.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $63,162.60.
