Bitcoin jumps on US–Iran ceasefire hopes

Bitcoin rose about 2% to roughly US$66,000 after the US and Iran agreed to a ceasefire, sending the token to its highest level in weeks.

The move highlights how bitcoin behaves more like a risk asset than “digital gold”, often falling when global tensions rise and rebounding when fears ease alongside equities.

Analysts say a durable truce and a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz could support further gains, but bitcoin still trades nearly US$40,000 below levels seen a year ago.
