Bitcoin ETFs end eight-week outflow streak
- US spot Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) ETFs attracted about US$197 million, ending an eight-week run of outflows.
- Spot Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) ETFs also returned to net inflows after eight weeks of withdrawals.
- The rebound suggests investor demand is improving, although inflows remain well below recent outflows.
US spot Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) exchange-traded funds recorded about US$197.4 million in net inflows last week, ending a record eight-week outflow streak.
Spot Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) ETFs also attracted about US$84.4 million, ending their own eight-week period of net withdrawals.
The previous eight weeks saw about US$9.46 billion leave Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs combined, making last week's inflows a modest recovery.
The renewed inflows suggest investor demand has improved after weeks of heavy selling, although they recovered only about 3% of the money withdrawn during the earlier outflow period.
Market participants will now watch whether ETF inflows continue, as sustained demand could provide stronger support for cryptocurrency prices.
Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF flows are widely followed because they offer a regulated way for institutional and retail investors to gain cryptocurrency exposure through traditional stock exchanges.
The latest figures mark the first positive weekly flows since early May, but investors will be watching the coming weeks to see whether the recovery develops into a sustained trend.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $63,321.37.
