Binance.US targets 20% US market share

  • Binance.US aims to regain a 20% share of the US crypto market.
  • The exchange is cutting trading fees and adding new products to attract users.
  • The plan follows two years of regulatory setbacks and leadership changes.

Binance.US said it wants to regain a 20% share of the US cryptocurrency exchange market after rebuilding its business.

Chief executive Stephen Gregory said the exchange is competing with near-zero trading fees and a stronger product lineup.

"We're essentially almost a no-fee exchange," Gregory told CoinDesk.

Binance.US now charges 0% maker fees and 0.02% taker fees on spot trades while working to rebuild market liquidity.

The company said it also plans to add derivatives, perpetual futures and prediction markets if regulators approve the required licences.

Binance.US once held about 20% of the US crypto exchange market before regulatory action sharply reduced its business in 2023.

Gregory said clearer US crypto rules could help Binance.US expand its products and compete more directly with other exchanges.
