Binance futures trading jumps to $1.6T

Share
  • Binance recorded US$1.61 trillion in futures trading volume in June.
  • The increase came even as spot crypto trading stayed at a two-year low.
  • Binance remained the largest futures exchange ahead of new EU crypto rules.

Binance recorded US$1.61 trillion in futures trading volume in June, its highest monthly total in 2026.

The figure was up 80% from US$893 billion in May, according to CryptoQuant data.

“That might seem unexpected,” CryptoQuant analyst Maarten Regterschot, known as "Maartuun," said, noting that many traders still viewed the market as bearish.

Binance processed more futures trading than OKX, which recorded US$609 billion, and Bybit, which reached US$434 billion during June.

Crypto spot trading remained weak, with centralised exchanges recording US$3 trillion in volume during the second quarter, the lowest level in two years.

Binance remained the largest futures exchange with about 28% market share during the second quarter despite an overall decline in futures trading across the market.

Early July data showed Binance processed US$418 billion in futures trades during the first 10 days after Europe's MiCA transition period ended.
