AI-powered businesses and freelancers could generate US$262 billion in annual stablecoin payments by 2030, according to a report by Swyftx.
The report said AI agents will need fast and low-cost payment systems to pay workers, suppliers and other AI services.
Swyftx estimated AI-powered businesses could account for about US$165 billion in stablecoin payments, while freelancers could add another US$97 billion.
The report said stablecoins could become a common payment method because they operate around the clock and settle transactions quickly.
Stablecoins are digital tokens designed to track the value of traditional currencies such as the US dollar.
The report said future payment growth will depend on broader AI adoption and continued development of stablecoin infrastructure.
