Aave pitches Uber path for DeFi growth
- Aave founder Stani Kulechov has proposed an “Uber path” for DeFi if US crypto legislation remains stalled.
- Aave is expanding into tokenised real-world assets, including stocks and securities, through a new Avalanche hub.
- The protocol is also developing a simpler savings app aimed at bringing DeFi to mainstream users.
Aave founder Stani Kulechov has proposed an “Uber path” for DeFi after the US Senate rejected advancing the Clarity Act.
The Senate voted 49-50 against advancing the bill, which would establish a broader federal framework for digital assets.
“But if that doesn’t obviously happen, I think the ultimate goal is to really use this technology and empower millions of people around the world,” said Stani Kulechov, founder and CEO of Aave.
Kulechov has argued that wider DeFi adoption could eventually force lawmakers to address how the sector should be regulated.
Aave is also expanding into tokenised stocks, securities and other real-world assets through a new hub on Avalanche (CRYPTO:AVAX).
The hub targets institutional lending and borrowing, with selected tokenised assets available as collateral for stablecoin loans.
Aave is also developing a consumer app that aims to simplify savings by abstracting wallets, networks and stablecoins while connecting users to bank accounts.
At the time of reporting, Avalanche price was $7.53.
