Worley (ASX:WOR) has been awarded an engineering services contract by United States Strategic Metals to support a multi-metallic processing hub in Missouri, United States, including a cobalt refinery and black mass recycling process line.
The agreement comes as the engineering firm continues to expand its involvement in critical mineral and energy transition infrastructure across global markets.
"The cobalt refinery project supports the development of critical mineral supply chains in the United States," said Worley CEO Chris Ashton.
Under the arrangement, Worley will provide engineering services and procurement support within an integrated project management team to oversee construction.
Following the announcement, the Worley share price was unchanged at $10.67.
