- The company plans to appoint an interim manager while searching for a permanent successor.
Woodside Energy (ASX:WDS) executive Daniel Kalms has announced his resignation from the $63 billion business after 25 years of service.
The departure follows the appointment of rival executive Liz Westcott to the chief executive role in March after former leader Meg O’Neill left for BP.
"Daniel Kalms has had a career of distinction at Woodside and has been central to building Woodside from a primarily Australia-based company to one that now has operations across three continents," said Woodside CEO Liz Westcott.
Regional leader Paa-Joe Akoto-Ampaw will assume interim control of the international portfolio while the business conducts a search for a permanent executive replacement.
Following the announcement, the Woodside Energy share price was down at $32.84.
The outgoing executive previously managed startup operations at the Pluto LNG facility in 2012 before overseeing development approval for the Scarborough gas project in 2021.
