  • Vena Energy has locked in $1.4 billion of debt financing to advance its solar and battery energy storage portfolio across Australia.

  • The clean energy rollout is designed to group assets with complementary operating profiles to maximise structural and financial efficiencies.

Vena Energy has secured $1.4 billion in debt financing from a consortium of global and domestic banks to accelerate its solar and battery storage rollout across Australia.

The new funding package expands on the company's existing footprint, which includes operational solar and storage capacity at Tailem Bend in South Australia and the Wandoan South precinct in Queensland.

"The structuring of the financing allowed Vena Energy to group together assets with complementary operating and financing elements, improving the efficiency of the deal and providing flexibility for future growth," the company stated.

The transaction features a multi-tranche facility supported by ten overseas financial institutions, including BNP Paribas, Bank of China, ING, Mizuho Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui, alongside Australian lender Westpac.

The company stated that the capital will directly advance its broader pipeline of green power and battery storage installations throughout the region.

Following the announcement, the Vena Energy share price was unchanged at N/A due to its status as a privately held company.

The company currently manages a portfolio consisting of 732 megawatts of green power and 600 megawatt-hours of battery storage capacity across its operational, contracted, and under-construction projects in Australia.
