Trump Vows to Double Canadian Auto Tariffs, Escalating Fight

Bloomberg's Melissa Shin said that negotiators in both Canada and the United States understand how important the auto sector is both countries as President Trump vowed to double existing tariffs on the Canadian auto industry. Shin said that the broader tariffs stand to impact an estimated 90,000 jobs and disproportionately small businesses that may not see as much government support.
