Toyota led the Australian vehicle market to an all-time monthly record of 140,058 sales in June.
The total represented a 7% increase in VFACTS-recorded sales compared to June 2025.

"The Australian automotive market has shifted on its axis during the first months of 2026," said Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries CEO Tony Weber.
Vehicles sourced from China accounted for 46,592 sales, capturing 35.5% of the monthly market.

The industry group noted that global fuel price volatility is driving a permanent structural shift towards electric models.
Within this shifting landscape, the Ford Ranger secured the highest-selling individual model position with 5,999 units sold.
