Swoop sells Sydney Fibre assets for $4.5M
- Swoop Holdings entered into a binding share sale agreement to sell its Sydney-based fibre assets to Xenith IG Australia for approximately $4.5 million.
- The net proceeds from the transaction will be applied directly towards debt reduction and general working capital requirements.
- The company stated that the divestment forms part of its ongoing strategy to simplify its operating portfolio and focus on core consumer telecommunications.
Swoop Holdings (ASX:SWP) executed a binding share sale agreement to divest its Sydney-based fibre assets to Xenith IG Australia for aggregate consideration of approximately $4.5 million.
The transaction contrasts with previous periods as the company actively works to realise value from non-core assets rather than expanding its footprint in secondary infrastructure markets.
The company stated that completion is subject to customary conditions precedent, including Foreign Investment Review Board approval under the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act.
The business expects the transaction to conclude in the third quarter of fiscal year 2027 while maintaining uninterrupted service continuity for all existing clients.
Following the announcement, the Swoop Holdings share price was unchanged at $0.066.
The transaction follows a series of portfolio management choices intended to streamline operations and strengthen the balance sheet of the telecommunications provider.
