Sparc Technologies (ASX:SPN) has formalised a letter of intent with HydroGraph Clean Power to integrate specialised "Fractal Graphene" into its proprietary ecosparc protective coating additives.
The collaboration seeks to leverage HydroGraph's high-quality turbostratic graphene—produced by a company currently valued at approximately $2.9 billion—to bolster the durability and sustainability of both water-based and solvent-based coating systems.
The partnership follows preliminary trials where HydroGraph's materials demonstrated clear performance benefits in water-based applications.
Under the new framework, Sparc will initiate rigorous ISO 12944 cyclic corrosion testing, spanning 4,200 hours, to validate the efficacy of the additives in commercially available solvent-based coatings.
The international standard is the benchmark for protecting steel structures, and successful results are expected to pave the way for a definitive commercial supply agreement within the next 12 months.
Sparc Managing Director Nick O'Loughlin emphasised that the deal secures a reliable North American supply chain as the company pushes toward broader commercialisation.
Meanwhile, HydroGraph CEO Kjirstin Breure highlighted the substantial return on investment for asset owners, noting that graphene-enhanced coatings can significantly extend the intervals between maintenance cycles.
At the time of reporting, Sparc Technologies' share price was $0.16.
