  • Southern Cross Electrical Engineering generated $77 million in underlying earnings for the 2026 financial year.
  • The share price reached $4.65 in trading following the publication of the annual financial report.
  • The company stated that an $810 million order book is expected to drive future operational growth.

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (ASX:SXE) announced $77 million in underlying earnings, up 40.5% in the prior-year period.

Although revenue fell 10.3% to $718.7 million, the underlying net profit after tax grew 24.3% against the prior year to $39.4 million.

The business stated that completing the Collie Battery and Western Sydney Airport projects initially reduced revenue.

Overheads of $61.1 million were up 15.7% on the prior year's overheads of $52.8 million, primarily because of the inclusion of Force Fire for the full current year.

"We have a record order book and cash balance, an unprecedented pipeline of data centre opportunities and significant exposure to Australia's energy transition and infrastructure spend," stated SCEE Group Managing Director Graeme Dunn.

Following the announcement, the Southern Cross Electrical Engineering share price was up at $4.65.

The company declared a 7.5 cents per share dividend alongside an $810 million order book.

With an interim dividend of 2.5 cents per share, the company’s total dividend for FY26 came to 10 cents per share.

Management stated it expects the financial year 2027 underlying earnings to reach at least $100 million.
