SomnoMed Co-CEO Amrita Blickstead resigns

·       Amrita Blickstead has stepped down as Co-CEO of SomnoMed, leaving Karen Borg as sole CEO.

·       Following the announcement, SomnoMed shares were down at $0.47.

·       The leadership transition accompanies the company's global expansion and the product launch of its Virtus oral appliance.

Medical device maker SomnoMed (ASX:SOM) announced Co-CEO Amrita Blickstead stepped down on July 27, leaving Karen Borg to lead the business globally.

Borg served alongside Blickstead as co-CEO since February 2024 before assuming complete executive leadership of the company.

“Our daily collaboration was central to the turnaround of the company and has enabled a solid foundation for its future,” said SomnoMed Co-CEO Karen Borg.

During Blickstead's six-year total tenure with the company, SomnoMed passed the milestone of treating over 1 million patients across more than 20 countries.

Following the announcement, the SomnoMed share price was down at $0.47.

The company focuses on providing oral appliance treatment solutions for sleep-related breathing disorders and obstructive sleep apnoea.

SomnoMed stated that recent management efforts focused on improving financial performance, accelerating turnaround times, and increasing manufacturing capacity for its global market expansion.
