  • Rimfire Pacific Mining applied for two exploration licenses to establish the 500-square-kilometre Bogan River Project.
  • The new area directly adjoins the Nyngan Scandium Deposit owned by Scandium International Mining.
  • The company stated that the application forms part of its strategy to grow a regional critical minerals portfolio.

Rimfire Pacific Mining (ASX:RIM) expanded its critical minerals footprint by lodging applications for two exploration licenses covering 500km2 west of Nyngan.

The newly designated Bogan River Project directly adjoins the Nyngan Scandium Deposit owned by Scandium International Mining.

The new exploration licence applications 7124 and 7125 cover regional infrastructure routes and untested aeromagnetic anomalies.

Rimfire Executive Chair Bronwyn Barnes said, “Expanding our 100% owned projects in Australia’s scandium epicentre supports our strategy of building a globally significant scandium inventory within the region.”

The company stated that the transaction is expected to advance its regional footprint and position the business as a leading international scandium player.

Following the announcement, the Rimfire Pacific Mining share price was unchanged at $0.009.

The project area contains mafic-ultramafic intrusive complexes interpreted as part of the Fifield Intrusive Suite.

Previous exploration over the tenement focused on carbon sequestration rather than testing for shallow scandium mineralisation.
