Red Sky Energy starts drilling Yarrow 5 well
- Red Sky Energy has commenced drilling on the Yarrow 5 development well in the Cooper Basin.
- The company holds a 20% working interest in the project alongside operator Santos.
- Drilling aims to reach a total depth of 2,775m to expand local gas production.
Red Sky Energy (ASX:ROG) has commenced drilling operations for the Yarrow 5 development well within PRL 17.
The Yarrow 5 well spudded on Sept. 8 using the Santos (ASX:STO) Rig 184.
"Yarrow 5 is the second of three wells in the Yarrow development programme. Santos has moved straight from Yarrow 4 to Yarrow 5 on the same pad, which keeps development costs down and shortens the path to production," said Red Sky Energy Managing Director Andrew Knox.
Crews expect the well to reach a planned total depth of 2,775m by Sept. 14, subject to operational conditions.
Following the announcement, the Red Sky Energy share price was unchanged at $0.0010.
The current drilling is the second stage of a three-well development programme managed by Santos.
The final phase will involve re-entering the suspended Yarrow North 1 well, with first gas targeted for early 2027.
