Red Sky Energy joins Yarrow North 1 gas well re-entry project
- Red Sky Energy will join the Yarrow North 1 gas well re-entry workover in South Australia.
- The company's net share of the gross $3 million project cost is roughly $0.60 million.
- The programme targets initial gas rates of 2.1 MMscf/d to access previously unreachable field areas.
Red Sky Energy (ASX:ROG) will participate in the Yarrow North 1 well re-entry programme in South Australia to unlock an estimated 0.52 Bcf of raw gas.
The targeted wellbore has been cased and suspended since 2008 without ever producing natural gas.
“Using this existing wellbore and Santos-operated infrastructure already in place should keep our net capital exposure down and shorten the time to first gas," said Red Sky Energy Managing Director Andrew Knox.
The operator estimates an initial production rate of 2.1 MMscf/d, with Red Sky holding a 20% net share equal to roughly 0.10 Bcf.
First gas production is targeted for early 2027 following completion of work alongside nearby development wells.
Following the announcement, the Red Sky Energy share price was unchanged at $0.0010.
The agreement follows binding authorisation for expenditure agreements signed with operator Santos (ASX:STO) in April 2026.
Red Sky retains its 20% working interest in PRL 17 inside the Innamincka Dome joint venture.
