Power Minerals (ASX:PNN) announced a strategic shift in its leadership, appointing seasoned mining executive Alistair Stephens as CEO, effective immediately.

The appointment marks a significant milestone for the company as it transitions into a South American-focused critical minerals developer.

Stephens brings over 35 years of industry experience to the role, with a distinguished track record in rare earths, gold, and base metals.

He previously served as Managing Director and CEO of Arafura Rare Earths (ASX:ARU), where he oversaw a market capitalisation increase from $4 million to $400 million, and has led multi-billion dollar companies across Australia, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

The appointment is a calculated move to bolster Power's exploration and development activities in Brazil and Argentina.

Stephens' recent expertise in Brazilian projects will be instrumental in advancing the Santa Anna and Morro do Ferro projects.

Under his leadership, the company is preparing to deliver its maiden mineral resource estimate for Santa Anna while simultaneously completing due diligence on Morro do Ferro.

Furthermore, his appointment is expected to drive the strategy for the Salta Lithium projects in Argentina, maximising the company's penetration in the international critical minerals market.
