Powell Says There's Tension Between Fed's Two Mandates, Welcomes Dissent

Speaking at a event at Harvard University Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell said that there's currently tension between the Fed's dual mandates as it aims to keep the labor market and inflation in check. Powell also said that he welcomes debate given the difficult landscape. Addressing the recent string of dissents, he said it would be 'misleading' to expect unanimity at this time.
