Perseus Mining (ASX:PRU) announced a $34 million drilling commitment for FY27 to expand its mineral resource base at the Yaouré Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire.

The open pit operation identified 24% more metal over the trailing six months to March 2026 compared to its reserve model.

The company stated that the CMA underground is performing well as it transitions into full production status.

Work plans for FY27 focus on converting inferred resources to extend open pit operations and exploring the CMA Southwest and ROZA deposits.

Following the announcement, the Perseus Mining share price was unchanged at $4.80.

The gold producer operates three primary African assets, including the Yaouré and Sissingué mines in Côte d’Ivoire alongside the Edikan mine in Ghana.

In June, the company expanded its ongoing capital management initiative by increasing its on-market share buyback programme to $150 million.
