Orbital Corporation (ASX:OEC) has completed the first successful flight of its 150HFE propulsion system aboard American Aerospace Technologies' AiRanger unmanned aircraft.

The accomplishment led to a follow-on order for three additional systems, expanding total cumulative orders to eight units valued at over US$750,000.

The company will despatch three units this week to support ongoing flight testing and expansion.

The deal reinforces commercial progress as the client holds operating approvals for Beyond Visual Line of Sight flights in the US.

Following the announcement, the Orbital Corporation share price was unchanged at $0.135.

Orbital Corporation designs and manufactures integrated heavy fuel propulsion systems for unmanned aerial vehicles.

The group continues to focus on recurring engine service revenue models while targeting global defence and commercial markets.
