- One Nation stated it will continue advocating for reduced migration targets and modified superannuation withdrawal rules.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers rejected One Nation policies that propose early superannuation access and a 130,000 annual migration cap.
This debate follows a recent proposal from Pauline Hanson to let citizens use retirement funds for mortgages.
“Labor built Australia’s super system, and we’ll always defend it,” said Australian Government Treasurer Jim Chalmers.
Hanson also stated her party seeks to reduce annual net migration from 300,000 to 130,000 people.
The government currently records 185,000 permanent migrants, with 137,000 officially classified as skilled workers under existing definitions.
Hanson stated that her party will continue to request annual reviews of both migration and international student visas.
