NRFC secures $55M deal with Global Resource Recovery
- National Reconstruction Fund Corporation commits a $55 million debt investment into Global Resource Recovery.
- Funding supports infrastructure expansion in Darwin and generates 126 local construction and operational jobs.
- Investment aims to establish domestic chemical recycling capability to reduce sovereign reliance on imports.
The National Reconstruction Fund Corporation will invest $55 million in senior secured debt into private waste management firm Global Resource Recovery.
The investment addresses key industrial chemical needs by providing an alternative to virgin chemical manufacturing for glycol and amine products used in oil and gas processing.
"Importantly, this is about building long-term sovereign capability in Australia," said Global Resource Recovery CEO Mike Everton.
The company stated that the project scope includes expanded storage and transport facilities in Darwin, creating 115 temporary construction jobs and 11 permanent operational positions.
The Northern Territory facility recycles degraded industrial fluid streams into high-purity inputs to reduce toxic waste disposal requirements.
This transaction marks a key capital allocation under the NRFC's $15 billion government mandate targeting domestic resource processing infrastructure.
