Neurizon Therapeutics secures NIH grant for ALS trial

Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX:NUZ) announced that the US National Institutes of Health awarded a multi-year grant to fund an Expanded Access Programme for its lead ALS therapy.

The new programme offers treatment access to up to 200 clinical trial-ineligible patients across approximately 20 trial sites and a national virtual site.

The grant was awarded directly to the Sean M. Healey & AMG Centre for ALS, with Neurizon receiving funding as a subawardee.

The company stated that the programme is fully funded by the NIH award, covering drug supply, manufacturing, regulatory, and monitoring costs.

Participant enrolment is scheduled to start by the first quarter of 2027, running alongside the Phase 2/3 HEALEY ALS trial.

Following the announcement, the Neurizon Therapeutics share price was up at $0.079.

Neurizon operates as a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.
