Nanoveu acquires Spinoff Robotics to boost drone tech

Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) announced the acquisition of Singapore-based deep-tech firm Spinoff Robotics.

The acquisition allows Nanoveu to bring essential aerial robotics, mechanical design, and fluid dynamics expertise in-house, completing a full-stack autonomy ecosystem.

By combining Spinoff’s proprietary airframes with Nanoveu’s ECS-DoT silicon, the company can now engineer advanced AI chips directly into the drone’s architecture from the design phase, rather than treating them as external payloads.

The integration creates a significant technological moat in a market projected to reach approximately US$98.24 billion by 2033.

The deal includes two high-performance proprietary platforms already validated by Tier-1 Singaporean entities such as Gardens by the Bay and the Land Transport Authority.

The first, ALICE, is a tethered drone engineered for high-payload operations without relying on GPS or radio frequencies, making it uniquely resistant to jamming and spoofing in sensitive environments.

The second, METRON, utilises camera-based 3D photogrammetry and AI-driven pipelines to deliver millimetre-level precision for surveillance and industrial measurement.

As part of the expansion, Spinoff co-founder Dr Chee How Tan, an expert in lean sensing and embodied perception, will join the Nanoveu team.

At the time of reporting, Nanoveu’s share price was $0.069.
