  • Firmus signs AI infrastructure agreements with Meta Platforms for data centre compute capacity in Southeast Asia.
  • Financial terms were not disclosed, and Meta remains an unlisted entity on the ASX ahead of Firmus's planned float.
  • The deal secures compute capacity to power Meta's regional artificial intelligence research, model development, and training.

Firmus and Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) have executed strategic infrastructure agreements for artificial intelligence compute capacity across Southeast Asia.

The new contracted capacity expands on Meta's current footprint as an anchor tenant at Firmus's Melbourne facility.

"We see Firmus as a long-term strategic infrastructure partner as we build for the next generation of AI across Asia-Pacific and expand the infrastructure supporting our AI research and model development efforts—the foundation of personal superintelligence," said Meta Vice President for Engineering and Infrastructure Gaya Nagarajan.

The agreement includes expansion options built on Nvidia hardware, though specific financial details and target site locations were not disclosed.

Following the announcement, Meta Platforms' share price was unchanged at $517.62.

Firmus is an unlisted Australian technology developer that builds and operates liquid-cooled data facilities across Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

The company is preparing for a $7 billion initial public offering on the Australian Securities Exchange to finance its regional data centre platform.
