Lindian Resources export position unaffected in Malawi
- Lindian Resources confirmed that Malawi’s 2025 executive order does not restrict monazite concentrate exports from its flagship Kangankunde Rare Earths Project.
- The company retains its export position as Stage 1 construction remains fully funded towards target production in late 2026.
- Executive leaders are engaging with Malawi officials while submitting position papers to shape downstream mineral processing regulations.
Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) has confirmed its Kangankunde concentrate exports remain unaffected by Malawi's 2025 executive order.
The clarification addresses market uncertainty around proposed downstream beneficiation rules following a written confirmation from Malawi's Mining and Minerals Regulatory Authority.
"Our focus is on completing Kangankunde and delivering the benefits of an operating rare earths mine for Malawi and our shareholders," stated the company in its regulatory update.
Stage 1 project development remains fully funded through to first production targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The mining company will submit a technical and commercial position paper alongside other listed miners to influence practical local processing rules.
Following the announcement, the Lindian Resources share price was down at $0.45.
The developer continues active site construction and primary beneficiation works at its primary rare earths deposit in Malawi.
In addition to its African mining operations, the group maintains strategic investments to build downstream rare earths processing capacity in Kazakhstan.
