- Company shares were unchanged at $0.012 following the announcement.
- The programme seeks to extend high-grade gold mineralisation towards a planned 2027 maiden resource estimate.
Lightning Minerals (ASX:L1M) has commenced Phase 2 diamond drilling across approximately 650m at its wholly owned Mt Turner Gold Project in North Queensland.
The new four-hole campaign builds on 2025 work that validated the geological model and reduced structural exploration risk along the 14-kilometre Drummer Fault corridor.
No executive quotes were provided in the release detailing the current drilling update.
The active drilling programme specifically targets extensions to high-grade mineralisation along a 950-metre section that remains open along strike and at depth.
This exploration phase serves as a primary stepping stone towards delivering a maiden mineral resource estimate targeted for 2027.
Following the announcement, the Lightning Minerals share price was unchanged at $0.012.
The broader Mt Turner asset encompasses multiple target areas, including the Western Zone and extended sections of the Drummer Fault corridor.
Significant portions of the 14-kilometre mineralised trend remain untested, providing the company with further long-term exploration potential.
