Green Technology Metals completes Seymour environmental assessment
- Green Technology Metals has completed the environmental assessment process for its Seymour Lithium Project in Ontario.
- The key milestone allows government agencies to proceed with issuing development permits for the project.
- Green Technology Metals is targeting the filing of its Mine Closure Plan in the first quarter of 2027 to advance development.
Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) has completed the required environmental assessment process with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources for its Seymour Lithium Project.
The project was evaluated under a Category B classification, which represents a low-to-medium potential for environmental impact due to its chemical-free, gravity-based processing strategy.
"The project is a simple small- to medium-sized operation that is extremely environmentally friendly given that we simply extract the raw minerals, sort and wash them, and then use gravity to separate the unwanted material from the spodumene we are concentrating," said Green Technology Metals Managing Director Cameron Henry.
The completion of the process enables state authorities to begin issuing necessary development approvals, including timber removal, water usage, and infrastructure permits.
The company stated that it expects to file its finalised mine closure plan in the first quarter of 2027 following ongoing consultations with local Indigenous partners.
Following the announcement, the Green Technology Metals share price was unchanged at $0.016.
Green Technology Metals is an Australian exploration company focused on developing lithium resources across Ontario, Canada.
